The Joseph Vaylet museum Housed in the former Saint-Jean-Baptiste church (15th-16th centuries), the Vaylet museum invites you to discover the popular arts and traditions of the region. Like a cabinet of curiosities, it presents a reconstituted traditional Rouergat interior (cantou, scullery and furniture set) as well as a rich collection of objects of daily life from the past: toys, musical instruments, cooking tools. he craftsmen, bedside stoups… These collections, brought together by Joseph Vaylet then by the members of the eponymous association, are spread over 2 levels in an exceptional Gothic setting. The diving museum Created in 1980 by the Joseph Vaylet museum association, this museum brings to life the extraordinary adventure of underwater exploration through the history of divers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Discover the inventions of Espalionnais Benoît Rouquayrol and Auguste Denayrouze who, in 1864, developed and patented the first modern scuba in the history of diving. Jules Verne was inspired by their autonomous regulator to equip Captain Nemo in his novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The first tests were carried out in the waters of the Lot. More than 300 pieces are exhibited and attract specialists from all over the world.
