In the courtyard, you will notice a 15th century sandstone well decorated with the scallop shell and the bumblebee, symbols of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. In the Middle Ages, Rodez was located on one of the many secondary paths of the Via Podiensis, the start of which is at Le Puy-en-Velay. The restored entrance door dates from the 15th century. It still retains a small window, the ancestor of our current peephole, as well as its door knocker.
